Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Masta Ace - Take a walk. Franklin has chosen Bring Da Ruckus as his entrance music. Big Boy has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Franklin. Nice defenses there by Boy. Franklin throws a looping overhand right but Boy ducks down to avoid it. Boy ducks under a wild hook from Franklin. Franklin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Boy can't do much from the bottom here. Franklin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Boy, who protects the arm well. Franklin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Franklin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Boy is trying to control Franklin's posture but Franklin avoids it. Franklin working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boy is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Franklin working the ground and pound. Franklin goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Boy rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Franklin's guard! Nice work there by Boy! Franklin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Franklin keeping moving, preventing Boy from controlling successfully. Franklin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Boy looking to sit in guard and control but Franklin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franklin distracts Boy with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Franklin cracks Boy with a solid left hand. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Boy wants to sweep here but Franklin controlling him for the moment. Franklin stays in close to Boy's body and controls the position. Boy working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Franklin. Boy wants to sweep but no luck. Boy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Boy scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boy moves out of range as Franklin strikes. Boy staying out of range there. Boy is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Boy tries to clinch there but Franklin circles away.
Franklin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Boy did well to prevent Franklin getting side control. Franklin is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Boy is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
