Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryobun Akagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Millar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Millar will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryobun Akagi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Millar!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akagi misses with a few strikes there.
Millar misses with a few strikes there.
Akagi shoots for a double leg takedown but Millar sprawls well. He's pushed Akagi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ryobun Akagi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Millar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Millar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Millar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No joy there for Akagi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Akagi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Millar to the mat! Millar manages to get full guard.

Millar looking for a guillotine here but Akagi defends easily.
Millar tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Millar trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Millar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Akagi's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Akagi drops back looking for a leg! Millar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Millar manages to kick Akagi off! Akagi jumps back into Millar's guard.
Akagi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Millar is on top in guard.

Akagi has his foot on Millar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Millar works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Millar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Akagi's guard.

Millar is trying to work for a kimura but Akagi is defending well.

Millar is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Akagi blocking the ground and pound attempt from Millar.
Akagi regains full guard. Nicely done.
Millar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Akagi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Akagi is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Millar drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Akagi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Millar has Akagi in his guard.

Akagi wants to control from the top but Millar keeps moving.

Akagi passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Akagi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Millar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Akagi has hold of Millar's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Millar seems comfortable defending it but Akagi has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Millar is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Millar is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Akagi couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ryobun Akagi!
