Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Will Oldham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Nilsson! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oldham moves in looking to clinch but Nilsson pushes him off. Oldham instigates a clinch. Oldham manages to break the clinch.
Oldham wants to clinch. Nilsson closes the distance looking to clinch and Oldham counters with a shoot takedown. Nilsson fights it but they end up in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oldham pushing down on Nilsson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Nilsson trying to control here.
Oldham is stalling here. Nilsson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Oldham seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Nilsson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Oldham regains half guard. Nilsson seems to be looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oldham is controlling Nilsson's position as best he can from this difficult position. Oldham wants to get back to full guard. Nilsson trying to mount his opponent but Oldham defends it. Oldham has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nilsson is working away from the top position though. Oldham scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Nilsson manages to mount him!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nilsson wants to control the pace but Oldham is squirming around nicely. Oldham keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oldham blocking the ground and pound. Nilsson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Oldham is trying to reverse the position but instead Nilsson has taken his back - oops! Oldham just trying to survive but Nilsson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Nilsson wants to control the position but Oldham frees himself and scrambles - Nilsson manages to regain control in side control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Oldham closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Oldham wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Oldham tries to pull guard but Nilsson won't allow it.

Nilsson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Oldham is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Nilsson trying to stall but Oldham improves his position.
Nilsson looks gassed! Oldham pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oldham wants to sweep here but Nilsson controlling him for the moment. Nilsson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oldham swivels though and keeps the full guard. Oldham working a defensive guard here.
Oldham pushes Nilsson off and gets back to his feet.

Nilsson throws a head kick but Oldham moves out of range.
Nilsson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Nilsson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nilsson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Nilsson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Oldham has worked his arm free - good work by Oldham!
Oldham parries the strikes from Nilsson easily there. Nilsson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Oldham to escape.
Oldham is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Nilsson off and has taken his back! Oldham keeps control of the position easily here as Nilsson tries to buck him off.
Nilsson is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Oldham trying to pass the guard but Nilsson defending well. Oldham controlling the action here. Nilsson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oldham content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Nilsson is looking to control Oldham's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nilsson avoid being mounted? Oldham with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Nilsson wants to improve his position but Oldham is controlling well.

A close second round but Daniel Nilsson will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nilsson tries to keep at a distance but Oldham has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Nilsson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Oldham pulls him back up using the underhooks. Nilsson wants to stall.
Nilsson seems frustrated at his inability to get double underhooks. Oldham jumps into guard, dragging Nilsson to the mat.
Will Oldham overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Oldham looking to control.
Oldham is looking to stand up but Nilsson isn't so interested in that idea. Oldham keeping moving, preventing Nilsson from controlling successfully. Oldham not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Oldham seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Oldham showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Oldham slips nicely into half guard. Oldham prevents Nilsson from improving his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Oldham is pressing down on Nilsson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Nilsson is holding on for now.
