Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Mcnamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barry wants to clinch up but Mcnamara keeps it at a distance.
Mcnamara throws a head kick but Barry moves out of range.
A punch combination from Mcnamara misses.
Barry shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mcnamara pinned against the cage. Mcnamara gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mcnamara takes the fight into the clinch.
Mcnamara wants a takedown but no success here.

Mcnamara jumps guard and drags Barry to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barry passes Mcnamara's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Barry get's back to his feet.
Mcnamara tries to bum rush Barry with a series of wild strikes but Barry uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mcnamara shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Barry pinned against the cage. Barry gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Barry lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mcnamara backs up against the cage.
Mcnamara is breathing heavily.
Barry gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Mcnamara counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Barry!
Barry tries to buck Mcnamara off but he can't manage it.
Barry is wriggling around trying to escape.

Barry sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Barry is pressing down on Mcnamara's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Barry pulls Mcnamara in close to his closed guard and prevents Mcnamara from doing any damage or advancing position.
Mcnamara wants to control from the top but Barry keeps moving.

Barry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mcnamara can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mcnamara shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barry manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Mcnamara lands a couple of elbows.

Mcnamara got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barry has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mcnamara has managed to get both his arms back between Barry's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Barry stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barry wants it to stay on the feet.
Barry tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mcnamara paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mcnamara moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Mcnamara drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Barry manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mcnamara has Barry in his guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
