Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Espada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marion Bowers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bowers is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by What's My Name. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leandro Espada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marion Bowers!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowers throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bowers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Espada tries to avoid it but Bowers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Espada to the ground. Espada escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Espada misses with a two punch combination.
Espada lands a left and a right that send Bowers crashing to the mat, dazed. Espada thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Marion Bowers has been cut.
Espada wants to clinch.
Some wild striking there from Espada.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bowers is defended easily by Espada.
Espada lands with a big left! Bowers is wobbled badly! Espada comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Bowers to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Leandro Espada!
