The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koivusalo tries for a takedown but Bartone sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bartone fails with an attempt to clinch.
Koivusalo keeps the fight on the outside.

Bartone moves out of range of the body kick from Koivusalo.

Koivusalo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bartone was covering up waiting for the punch and Koivusalo finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Koivusalo wants to pass the guard but Bartone is keeping the position.

Koivusalo tries to free his leg and advance position but Bartone is retaining full guard.

Bartone has his foot on Koivusalo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Koivusalo works his way back into a safe position though.

Koivusalo drops back looking for a leg! Bartone is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bartone manages to kick Koivusalo off! Koivusalo jumps back into Bartone's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and Koivusalo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bartone's guard now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Koivusalo is pushing down on Bartone's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bartone is fighting to maintain full guard but Koivusalo has managed to sneak the leg through.
