Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Travis Schalk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Blanco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson Blanco is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Schalk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jackson Blanco! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schalk keeps the fight on the outside. Blanco clinches. Schalk is trying to force a seperation but Blanco has the dominant position. Blanco gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Blanco trying to control the position from guard on top but Schalk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schalk tries to land a sweep but no joy. Blanco stays in close to Schalk's body and controls the position. Blanco is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Schalk looking for subs off his back but Blanco has passed one foot through into half guard.
Blanco looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Schalk with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Schalk pushes Blanco off looking to stand but Blanco dives back in and keeps control.
Blanco is taking a breather. Schalk says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Blanco sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Schalk defending well though. Blanco has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blanco wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schalk keeps working. Schalk works his way to full guard. Good work. Blanco pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Schalk is keeping the position for now. Schalk is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Blanco defends well. Blanco is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Schalk wants to stand and escape but Blanco is having none of it. Blanco trying to control but Schalk is working from the bottom. Blanco controlling from the top position. Schalk wants to sweep here but Blanco controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Blanco trying to control but Schalk is working from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Schalk moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Schalk leaves Blanco with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Schalk connects with a high kick. Schalk's corner calls for a 1-2. Schalk obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Schalk cracks Blanco with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Blanco misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Schalk lands a high kick!
It looks like Jackson Blanco has been cut. Blanco looks gassed! Blanco shoots in for a takedown but Schalk shows good takedown defense. Travis Schalk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Blanco. Blanco fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Schalk feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Blanco's calf. Schalk throws a nice inside leg kick. Schalk looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Travis Schalk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Blanco takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Schalk lets loose with a powerful body kick. Blanco will feel that in the morning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A kick lands to the mid section there for Schalk. Schalk looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Schalk plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Schalk connects with a solid leg kick. Schalk delivers a nice body kick. Schalk lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Schalk lands a high kick!
Blanco gets the takedown into side control. Blanco in side control, throwing shots but Schalk defends. Schalk trying to remain calm as Blanco controls from the top position. Schalk regains half guard there - taking advantage of Blanco's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Schalk wants to get back to his feet. Blanco performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Blanco trying to control the action but Schalk is working from the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. I looks like Blanco might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Schalk lands a nice leg kick that just misses Blanco's sensitive parts. A decent looking body kick lands there for Schalk. Schalk connects with a solid leg kick. Blanco steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Schalk. That one must have hurt. Schalk lands with a shot to the body. Travis Schalk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Blanco on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Schalk. Schalk obviously looking to wear him down.
A chopping leg kick lands by Schalk. Schalk connects with a high kick. Schalk throws a leg kick which misses Blanco's front leg but catches the back leg as Blanco tries to avoid it. Blanco sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Schalk lands a head kick. Blanco smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Schalk throws a combination. Blanco tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Blanco shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Schalk is trying desperately to improve position. Schalk tries to hold on but Blanco postures up. Schalk is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Blanco is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blanco lands a heavy elbow. Blanco looking to control but Schalk is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Blanco landing strikes, looking to finish! Blanco tries to control but Schalk wriggling away. Schalk tries to lock up and control but Blanco gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Schalk taking shots to the head. Blanco wants to control the pace but Schalk is squirming around nicely. Schalk is trying to escape the mount.

Schalk sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Still in half guard, Blanco seems content to control. Blanco lands with a punch from half guard. Schalk is trying to get back to full guard. Nice strikes from Blanco there. Blanco trying to control from half guard but Schalk is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Schalk lands with a nice body kick. A solid leg kick lands there for Schalk.
Schalk keeps Blanco at a distance using the push kick. Schalk works Blanco's body with a nice hook. Blanco on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Schalk. Schalk obviously looking to wear him down.
Blanco looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Schalk working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Blanco. Blanco trying to control but Schalk is working from the bottom. Blanco won't allow Schalk to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blanco has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Schalk is proving hard to escape from. Blanco wants to control from the top but Schalk keeps moving. Schalk is looking for a triangle but Blanco pushes his legs off easily.

Schalk was covering up waiting for the punch and Blanco finishes the takedown easily into guard. Blanco is working the ground and pound from guard. A head kick from Schalk lands but Blanco takes it in his stride. Schalk explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Schalk scores with a kick to the midsection. Schalk throws a nice outside leg kick. Blanco's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Schalk throws a nice head kick!
Both fighters circling a little - Schalk finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Blanco dives in and grabs Schalk's left leg, looking for a takedown. Schalk pushes down on Blanco's head and hops out. Blanco takes a kick to the side of the head. Blanco tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Schalk swivels and escapes. Travis Schalk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schalk goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Blanco drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Schalk seems a little lost for a moment, as Blanco dominates the positioning. Schalk manages to work his way to half guard, despite Blanco's best efforts. Schalk looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Schalk tries to roll over but Blanco keeps him under control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Schalk trying to control here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Well, if Blanco is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Schalk on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Blanco sitting and controlling from the half guard. Blanco uses his free foot to push down on Schalk's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Schalk. Blanco looking to control but Schalk is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Blanco content just to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Blanco thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Schalk is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Blanco putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Blanco wants to control the pace but Schalk is squirming around nicely. Schalk working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Blanco takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Blanco's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Blanco looking to control but Schalk is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Blanco is in the full mount, landing strikes. Blanco trying to control but Schalk is having none of it. Schalk is desperately trying to improve his position but Blanco has a good base and remains in mount. Jackson Blanco has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Blanco is working for a guillotine from mount but Schalk frees his head quite easily.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jackson Blanco. I think Schalk has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
