The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cuba shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gucik napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Cuba looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cuba wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gucik, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cuba stops Gucik from getting back to his feet.

Gucik is breathing heavily.
Cuba looking to secure an arm triangle but Gucik defends it well.
Gucik is bucking up trying to escape but Cuba cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Cuba lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cuba is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Cuba extends the arm and Gucik is forced to tap!
