Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between LAI LAI (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruslan Bonjasky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, LAI LAI!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ruslan Bonjasky!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

LAI looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Bonjasky!
LAI trying to control but Bonjasky is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
LAI avoids the attempt from Bonjasky to control.
LAI with shots to the head and body - Bonjasky looks very uncomfortable down there.
Bonjasky working to try and regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

LAI goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bonjasky is on top in guard.
LAI on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if LAI tries to get out of the position.
Bonjasky won't allow LAI to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bonjasky stands up from LAI's guard - Bonjasky perhaps looking for a knockout.
LAI closes the distance and clinches up with Bonjasky, looking for a takedown. LAI pushes Bonjasky against the cage but Bonjasky circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

LAI shoots in and bounces Bonjasky off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
LAI is breathing heavily.
Bonjasky trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
LAI wants to get up but he can't break Bonjasky's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bonjasky wants to stand and escape but LAI is having none of it.
LAI really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bonjasky not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
LAI wants to stand and escape but instead Bonjasky has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
LAI is looking to stand up but Bonjasky isn't so interested in that idea.
Bonjasky trying to control the position from guard on top but LAI is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
LAI wants to stand and escape but Bonjasky is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

LAI gets a takedown into half guard.
Bonjasky manages to get to full guard.
LAI missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bonjasky pushes a forearm under LAI's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, LAI is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ruslan Bonjasky!
