Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Slate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slate has chosen Fuck the Shit as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alistair Rutten! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesus Slate! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Rutten. Slate lands with a straight right. Rutten didn't see that one coming. Nice defenses there by Rutten. Rutten ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Slate misses with a two punch combination.
Slate is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rutten. A slapping leg kick lands for Rutten.
Rutten looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Slate has hold of Rutten's hands but Rutten slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Slate blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rutten. Rutten misses with a head shot. Slate uses the momentum to regain guard. Rutten prevents Slate from getting back to his feet. Rutten landing with the ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Slate can do anything to dispel that myth. Rutten preventing the sweep.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rutten displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Slate throws out the jab. Slate looks to land a combination but Rutten avoids it well. A chopping leg kick lands by Rutten. Slate ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rutten moves away. Slate fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rutten manages to avoid it. Rutten fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Slate is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Rutten, right into the meat.
Slate tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rutten was well out of range. Poor timing from Slate. Rutten with a jab. Slate looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slate throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Slate defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rutten. A jab from Slate misses. Slate misses the shot to the body. Good standup being displayed there by Slate as he connects with a hook. Rutten throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Slate's head. Slate takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Rutten lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Slate misses the shot to the body. Jesus Slate is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Slate throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Rutten lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Rutten tried to score with a low kick but Slate checks it. Slate gets caught flat footed, as Rutten shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Rutten wants to pass the guard but Slate is keeping the position. Slate has momentary wrist control but Rutten slips an elbow through the middle.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Slate slips a straight right by Rutten. A decent looking body kick lands there for Rutten. Jesus Slate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rutten looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Rutten doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Slate misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rutten.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A big left from Slate misses. Slate moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Slate lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Slate thows a body shot but no joy. Rutten dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Slate throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Slate takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Rutten is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Slate fails to land with a series of punches.
Slate ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rutten moves away. Slate misses with a few strikes there.
Rutten scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Slate swings and misses with a shot to the body and Rutten counters with a leg kick. Slate takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rutten wants to land a leg kick but Slate is out of range. Slate rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rutten moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Rutten takes a jab right on the kisser.

Alistair Rutten dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rutten thows a body kick. Slate tries to catch it but that hurt him. Slate pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A jab from Slate finds it's way through Rutten's defenses. Slate throws out a loose jab but Rutten uses good head movement to avoid it. Rutten displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Slate throws out the jab. Slate stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Slate wants it to stay on the feet. Slate stuns Rutten with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Slate fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. The fighters circling - Slate throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Slate uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rutten.
Slate sizes up Rutten with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Rutten drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. The fighters circle momentarily. Slate darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Slate takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Slate connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

That'll leave a bruise. Rutten scores with a spinning back kick! Slate throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Rutten ducks under a wild hook from Slate. Rutten misses with the combination.

and Rutten counters with a nice uppercut. Slate loads up on a big right hand but Rutten slips the punch. Rutten throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Rutten avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Slate scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Slate throws a right hand that Rutten ducks under and follows up with a left that Rutten also avoids with ease. Alistair Rutten is winning the standup battle so far. Slate misses with a straight left. Slate misses with a wild body shot. A big left from Slate misses. Slate keeps the fight on the outside.

Rutten takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Rutten shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slate as he jumps to the side. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rutten motions for Slate to come forward. Rutten throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Rutten drops his hands momentarily and Slate takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Slate fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slate thuds a left hand into Rutten's body. Slate scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rutten doesn't seem bothered though. Rutten shoots in for a takedown but Slate shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A left and a right from Slate both land. Nice combination. Rutten misses with a head kick.
Slate swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Rutten tries to clinch but Slate moves out of range. Slate throws an overhand right that lands on Rutten's shoulder, as Rutten tries to avoid the shot. A telegraphed right hand from Slate misses the target. Rutten takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Rutten blocks a jab. Rutten feints and as Slate raises his hands in defense, Rutten changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Rutten throwing strikes but missing. Slate striking off his back. Slate really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rutten. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rutten tries to free his leg and advance position but Slate is retaining full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rutten accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slate is adopting a defensive guard. Slate controls Rutten momentarily but Rutten frees himself. Slate is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rutten is controlling him. Slate is pulling down on Rutten's head. It's preventing any offense from Rutten, at least for the moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rutten lands with a kick to the temple. Slate shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Slate getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Slate clobbers Rutten with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Slate fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rutten looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jesus Slate showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Rutten looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Rutten defending well as Slate loads up on a big left hand. Slate lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Slate misses with a straight left. Slate throws a series of punches but Rutten avoids them all with ease. Slate punishes Rutten's body with a nice straight punch. Slate scores with a shot to the body.
