Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bryce Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the cage accompanied by Empire State of Mind. The crowd seem to be enjoying Chavez's choice of entrance music: Hard knock life. Bryce Carter has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Carter trying to control but Chavez is working from the bottom. Chavez working a defensive guard here.
Carter's corner is telling him to maintain position. Carter decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Chavez tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance. Chavez shoots for a double leg takedown but Carter sprawls well. He's pushed Chavez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chavez wants to clinch. Carter fails with the takedown and Chavez counters with a two punch combo. Chavez is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Carter tries for a takedown but Chavez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Chavez listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Chavez tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance. Carter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carter wants it to stay on the feet. Chavez throws a series of punches but Carter avoids them all with ease. Carter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chavez but Chavez pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bryce Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter is breathing heavily. Carter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chavez fails with a takedown attempt. Carter fails to land the takedown. Chavez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Chavez stops a takedown attempt from Carter.
Carter throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Chavez blocks it with crossed arms. Chavez jumps guard but Carter stands there with Chavez around his waist. Chavez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Carter is trying to force a seperation but Chavez has the dominant position. Chavez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carter walks away with a smile on his face. Chavez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Carter swats away the attempt to clinch by Chavez.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chavez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Chavez wants to clinch. Chavez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Chavez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Carter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chavez as he jumps to the side. Chavez lands a nice shot to the body.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Carter postures up in Chavez's guard and throws a big left but Chavez blocks it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bryce Carter dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Carter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chavez. Carter clinches with his opponent.
Carter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Chavez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Chavez cracks Carter with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Chavez gets a clinch. Chavez wants a takedown but no success here.
Carter is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Chavez can't fight it off and eventually Carter manages to take the fight to the floor. Chavez looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Chavez wants to sweep but no luck. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chavez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carter landing some decent shots from guard. Carter has gone for a leg lock! Chavez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carter's guard. Chavez stopping the sweep attempt from Carter. Carter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Carter is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chavez is aware though and is defending well. Chavez tries to free his leg and advance position but Carter is retaining full guard. Chavez passes Carter's left leg - he's now in half guard. Chavez content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Chavez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carter keeps working. Chavez is pressing down on Carter's thigh, looking to free his foot. Carter is holding on for now. Chavez frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter wants to control but Chavez is having none of it. Carter throwing hammer fists to the chest of Chavez. What's that going to do exactly? Chavez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carter is looking to escape. Chavez get's back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Chavez lands a two punch combo.
Chavez dips to his left and cracks Carter with an uppercut! Carter tries to close the distance and clinch but Chavez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Chavez closes the distance but Carter moves to the side and Carter counters with a single leg into guard. Chavez didn't expect that. Carter wants to control from the top but Chavez keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chavez working a defensive guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Bryce Carter will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
A big right from Carter misses. Chavez scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Chavez lands with a nice combination. Carter backs away looking to recover. Carter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chavez as he jumps to the side. A right-left combo lands from Chavez. Chavez tries to bum rush Carter with a series of wild strikes but Carter uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Carter shoots for a takedown but Chavez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Carter tries to keep at a distance but Chavez has taken the fight into the clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Chavez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

It will also be interesting to see what tactics Carter uses from the top position. Chavez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Chavez keeping moving, preventing Carter from controlling successfully. Carter tries to free his leg and advance position but Chavez is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Chavez closes the distance but Carter moves to the side and Carter counters by moving into the clinch. Chavez jumps guard but Carter stands there with Chavez around his waist. Chavez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Chavez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Carter pulls his leg out and moves away.
Antonio Chavez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chavez clinches up against the cage. Carter goes for a takedown in the clinch but Chavez prevents it.
Chavez gets through Carter's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Carter can't get the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter prevents a takedown attempt there.
Chavez has Carter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Carter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Carter can't get the takedown.
Chavez jumps guard but Carter stands there with Chavez around his waist. Chavez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Carter misses with a punch to the body.
Chavez gets underhooks to prevent Carter's takedown attempt.
Chavez tries to score a body lock takedown but Carter shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Chavez is trying to drag Carter to the mat but Carter just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Bryce Carter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Chavez is working for takedown but Carter is calmly controlling the position for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Antonio Chavez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Carter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
