PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ry Bread (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corey Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas has chosen Break by Three Days Grace as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ry Bread could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Corey Thomas's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bread lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thomas circles away quickly and effectively.

and Thomas counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Nice sprawl there from Bread as Thomas shoots in.
Bread takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Ry Bread has been cut.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Thomas, right into the meat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Thomas moves into the clinch.

Thomas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Thomas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bread as he avoids it easily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bread is staying active underneath Thomas, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Bread knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thomas on the ground.

Thomas shoots in and bounces Bread off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Thomas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Thomas stops Bread from standing up.
Bread lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Thomas!

Bread won't allow Thomas to sweep him here.

Thomas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bread's guard.
Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bread swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bread has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Thomas is working away from the top position though.
Thomas is keen to just control but Bread is a slippery customer.

Corey Thomas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Thomas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
