The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas throws an overhand right that lands on Penn's shoulder, as Penn tries to avoid the shot.
Penn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Douglas throws out the jab.
Penn closes the distance and clinches up with Douglas, looking for a takedown. Penn pushes Douglas against the ropes but Douglas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Penn is trying hard to land a takedown here. Douglas sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Penn shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Douglas defends it nicely.
Billy Douglas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Penn.

and Douglas counters with a crisp right hand that drops Penn! Douglas lets Penn back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Douglas lands with a big right hook that stumbles Penn - he's out on his feet here! Douglas follows up with another monster hook that separates Penn from consciousness! Penn falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Douglas stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
