Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sasa Gusi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Winner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gusi comes to the cage accompanied by Marsirala Kralja Petra Garda. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sasa Gusi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stan Winner! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winner throws a jab but it's blocked by Gusi. Gusi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Winner at a distance.
Gusi blocks a jab. Winner misses with a double jab.
Winner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gusi swats him away and circles back towards the center. Gusi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gusi fails with the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gusi moves out of range as Winner strikes. Winner paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gusi shoots in for a double leg but Winner sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gusi ducks under a wild hook from Winner. Winner misses with a wild combination.
Winner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gusi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gusi tries to bum rush Winner with a series of wild strikes but Winner uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The fighters circling - Winner throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Winner thows a body shot but no joy. Winner misses the body punch and Gusi counters with a single leg into guard. Winner didn't expect that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gusi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Winner looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Winner looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Winner! Gusi taking a bit of punishment here - Winner scoring with strikes. Gusi is trying to get back to half guard. Winner moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gusi. Winner steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gusi. Gusi circles away from the clinch attempt and Gusi counters with a single leg into guard. Winner didn't expect that. Gusi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Winner is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sasa Gusi dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Winner waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gusi. Winner wants to clinch up but Gusi keeps it at a distance. Winner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gusi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Winner but Winner pushes him off and we're back to square one. Stan Winner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gusi misses with a head shot. Winner uses the momentum to regain guard. Winner is trying to control the position but Gusi postures up. Winner might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gusi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gusi with a flurry of punches that miss. Winner looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Winner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gusi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gusi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Winner swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Winner comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Winner closes the distance but Gusi moves to the side and Gusi counters with a nice double leg into guard. Winner looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Winner is controlling Gusi's posture. Gusi postures up in Winner's guard and throws a big left but Winner blocks it. Winner is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Winner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gusi throws a strike but Winner rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Winner trying to control the position from guard on top but Gusi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Winner passes into half guard. Gusi looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Winner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Gusi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Gusi seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Winner is holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gusi working for a submission but Winner is keeping him at bay. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Winner wants to control but Gusi is having none of it. Gusi sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Winner controls the position. Gusi raining down shots from the mount! Winner tries to lock up and control but Gusi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Gusi moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Winner has worked his arm free - good work by Winner!
Winner parries the strikes from Gusi easily there. Gusi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Winner to escape.
Gusi is trying to get an arm triangle but Winner is defending well. Winner tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gusi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Winner is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gusi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Winner knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gusi sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Winner is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Stan Winner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gusi is trying to get an arm triangle but Winner is defending well. Gusi working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Winner tries to bum rush Gusi with a series of wild strikes but Gusi uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sasa Gusi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Winner throws a shot from downtown. Gusi moves away and avoids it.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Stan Winner. I think Gusi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
