Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Tyler! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ioki Fujinami! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Tyler looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A punch combination from Fujinami misses. Fujinami closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tyler to the mat! Tyler manages to get full guard. Tyler throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Fujinami controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Tyler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fujinami doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fujinami manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Fujinami trying to control but Tyler is working from the bottom. Tyler is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fujinami got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tyler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fujinami has managed to get both his arms back between Tyler's legs - danger averted. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fujinami trying to control the position from guard on top but Tyler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tyler looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fujinami controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Tyler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fujinami doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fujinami manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Tyler will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Fujinami stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tyler swivels though and keeps the full guard. Fujinami wants to control from the top but Tyler keeps moving. Tyler looking for a guillotine here but Fujinami defends easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tyler looking for a guillotine here but Fujinami defends easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Tyler is breathing heavily. Fujinami pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tyler is keeping the position for now. Tyler keeping moving, preventing Fujinami from controlling successfully. Tyler can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fujinami controls the pace.

Fujinami is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Tyler wants to sweep but no luck. Tyler looking for a guillotine here but Fujinami defends easily.

Fujinami really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tyler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fujinami trying to control but Tyler is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Despite being in the dominant position, Ioki Fujinami just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fujinami closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tyler circles away. Tyler misses with a takedown attempt and Fujinami counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Tyler with a poor takedown and Fujinami counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Fujinami has his takedown stuffed and Tyler counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Fujinami! Fujinami is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tyler is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Fujinami can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jake Tyler dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Fujinami tries to clinch but Tyler moves out of range. Fujinami feints and as Tyler raises his hands in defense, Fujinami changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Tyler controls Fujinami momentarily but Fujinami frees himself. Tyler keeping moving, preventing Fujinami from controlling successfully. Fujinami drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fujinami jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Fujinami must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tyler manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fujinami manages to get himself to full guard.
Jake Tyler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tyler stops Fujinami from standing up. Tyler postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Tyler passes into half guard. Tyler landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyler seems to be looking for submissions.
Tyler takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Fujinami is looking to improve his position.
Tyler scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Tyler is nestled in close to Fujinami, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Tyler landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Tyler seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Fujinami is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
