Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Randy Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Headden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage comes to the cage accompanied by OH YEAH!!!. Randy Savage has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Headden!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Headden moves out of range as Savage strikes.
Savage connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Headden lunges at Savage with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Savage's hand.
Savage misses with a head kick.
Headden avoids a punch combination nicely.

Savage shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Savage can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Headden is looking to escape.

Savage is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Headden has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Headden!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Savage wants to sweep here but Headden controlling him for the moment.

Savage is looking for a triangle but Headden pushes his legs off easily.
Headden tries to free his leg and advance position but Savage is retaining full guard.
Savage manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Savage takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Headden is desperately trying to improve his position but Savage has a good base and remains in mount.

Savage swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Headden is now in Savage's guard. A big mistake from Savage there, giving up the dominant position!
Headden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Savage swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Headden is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Savage doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Headden.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Savage is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Savage misses with a head kick.

Savage throws a sloppy head kick and Headden moves out of range easily.
Savage tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Headden drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Savage wants to sweep but no luck.
Headden wants to control from the top but Savage keeps moving.
Headden might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Savage kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Savage is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Savage takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Savage closes the distance and clinches up with Headden, looking for a takedown. Savage pushes Headden against the cage but Headden circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Headden throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Savage smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Headden is hanging on to Savage's back as he tries to escape.
Savage is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Savage is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Headden.

Steve Headden comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Headden has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
