Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Louis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anderson Silvennoinen!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Louis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silvennoinen sprawls well. Silvennoinen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Louis gets slowly back to his feet.
Silvennoinen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Silvennoinen takes the fight into the clinch.

Louis gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Louis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Silvennoinen wants to sweep here but Louis controlling him for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Louis breaks from Silvennoinen's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Louis prevents Silvennoinen from getting the reversal.

Louis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Silvennoinen is desperately trying to improve his position but Louis has a good base and remains in mount.

Louis goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Silvennoinen is on top in guard.

Louis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silvennoinen tries to avoid it but Louis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silvennoinen to the ground. Silvennoinen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silvennoinen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Louis is keeping the position for now.
Louis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Silvennoinen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Silvennoinen throws a right and a left that Louis avoids nicely.
Louis tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

The referee warns Silvennoinen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Silvennoinen is wriggling around trying to escape.

Silvennoinen thows a body shot but no joy.

Silvennoinen tries to keep at a distance but Louis has taken the fight into the clinch.
Louis drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Louis gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Silvennoinen.
Louis tries to land a knee to the head but Silvennoinen blocks with his arms.
Louis's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Louis wants to get back to his feet but Silvennoinen passes into half guard.

Louis makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Silvennoinen is stalling here. Louis is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Silvennoinen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Louis has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Louis is trying to control the action in half guard but Silvennoinen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Louis is just content to waste time from the top position. Silvennoinen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Mike Louis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Louis wants to control from the top but Silvennoinen keeps moving.

Silvennoinen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Louis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Louis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Louis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Silvennoinen lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Louis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silvennoinen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Louis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mike Louis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Louis counters with a single leg into guard. Silvennoinen didn't expect that.
Louis stays in close to Silvennoinen's body and controls the position.

Louis is fighting to break Silvennoinen's control of his arms but Silvennoinen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Silvennoinen wants to stand but Louis is controlling the position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Louis.
I think Louis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
