The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
sweeney fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barksdale avoids it really well and circles away.
Barksdale looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
sweeney darts in and clinches Barksdale up against the cage.
Barksdale gets control of sweeney's arms and successfully pulls guard. Barksdale will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Barksdale is looking to stand up but sweeney isn't so interested in that idea.
sweeney wanted to stand there but Barksdale had control of the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Barksdale is on top in guard.
Barksdale won't allow sweeney to sweep him here.
Barksdale got a little sloppy there for a moment and sweeney has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barksdale has managed to get both his arms back between sweeney's legs - danger averted.
Barksdale wants to control from the top but sweeney keeps moving.

sweeney wants to improve his position but Barksdale is controlling well.
Barksdale is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for sweeney!

Barksdale lands a heavy shot. That's hurt sweeney! Barksdale sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless sweeney and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
