Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Ott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Kickass! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ott throws a right and a left that Kickass avoids nicely. Ott throws a body punch but Kickass moves out of range. Ott shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ott showed some decent athleticism there. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Kickass is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ott scores with a couple of nice shots. Kickass actively working from the bottom here. Ott prevents Kickass from improving his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ott missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ott thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kickass is staying active underneath Ott, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kickass is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ott pulls his head out easily. Ott misses with a head shot. Kickass uses the momentum to regain guard. Kickass has momentary wrist control but Ott slips an elbow through the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ott is looking to work some ground and pound but Kickass has wrist control. Kickass pushes a forearm under Ott's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ott is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
