Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Oxard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crowley Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duncan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Der Dritte Raum - Hale Bopp kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Crowley Duncan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Oxard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crowley Duncan!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Duncan.
Duncan shoots in and drives through. Oxard sprawls well.

Duncan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Oxard on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Oxard tries to get out of the position.

Duncan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oxard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Oxard wants to stand but Duncan is controlling the position.

Mike Oxard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Duncan feints and as Oxard raises his hands in defense, Duncan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Oxard is trying to buck Duncan off.

Duncan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Oxard knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Oxard is pushing Duncan's head away, looking to escape. Duncan manages to hold on to the position though.
Duncan wants to stand but Oxard has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.
Duncan wanted to stand there but Oxard had control of the position.

Oxard wants to stand up but Duncan is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Duncan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Oxard.
A slow jab from Oxard misses its intended target.
Oxard throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Duncan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Duncan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Oxard circles away.
Mike Oxard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Crowley Duncan.
Oxard takes a swing at Duncan's ribcage but misses.
Duncan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Oxard is fending him off so far but Duncan persists. Nope, Oxard circles away and we're back to standing.
Oxard throws an overhand right that lands on Duncan's shoulder, as Duncan tries to avoid the shot.

Duncan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Duncan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oxard misses with a few strikes there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oxard on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Oxard keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Oxard leaves Duncan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mike Oxard will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Duncan closes the distance and clinches up with Oxard, looking for a takedown. Duncan pushes Oxard against the ropes but Oxard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Oxard has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Duncan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Oxard sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Oxard moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Duncan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Duncan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Oxard stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Oxard wants it to stay on the feet.
