Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Nass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Nass! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mauricio Rua! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua misses with the combination.
Nass closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Nass tries for a kimura but Rua is defending well.
Nass stands up and beckons Rua to his feet. Rua tries to bum rush Nass with a series of wild strikes but Nass uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Rua swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nass shoots in but Rua avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rua tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nass avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nass paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nass swats away the attempt to clinch by Rua.
Rua rushes Nass and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Rua is trying to break free. Rua tries to break the clinch but Nass is controlling the position. Rua looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Nass has picked Rua up - he's going for a ride! Nass dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rua is staying active underneath Nass, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Nass is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Rua wants to get back to full guard.
Rua kicks off Nass and gets to his feet. Nass cracks Rua with a good jab. Rua misses with a series of wild punches.
Nass changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rua looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua is trying to escape the position but Nass is controlling the position.
Nass is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rua has escaped the position, nice work there. Rua is trying to improve his position.
Nass decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rua to his feet. Rua misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nass closes the distance and clinches up with Rua, looking for a takedown. Nass pushes Rua against the cage but Rua circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Rua misses with an attempted mid kick.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua throws a series of punches but Nass moves out of range. Rua lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nass circles away quickly and effectively. Rua lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Nass avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mauricio Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nass drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nass is breathing heavily. Rua wants to get back to his feet. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Rua tries to bench press Nass off him but Nass keeps the position. Rua is trying to get back to his feet.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua tries to bench press Nass off him but Nass keeps the position. Nass trying to control the action but Rua is working from the bottom. Rua taking a bit of punishment here - Nass scoring with strikes. Nass trying to control the action but Rua is working from the bottom. Nass wants to take a breather but Rua manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Nass. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Nass dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Rua lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rua. The fight stays on the outside here - Rua looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Rua misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nass shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Nass stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Rua throws a series of punches but Nass moves out of range. Rua throws a right and a left that Nass avoids nicely. Donk. Rua catches Nass right on the button with a cross. Rua is breathing heavily. Rua stuffs the takedown attempt from Nass. Nass gets slowly back to his feet. Jake Nass is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rua tries to bum rush Nass with a series of wild strikes but Nass uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Rua gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rua pushes Nass off and gets back to his feet.
Rua tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nass was well out of range. Poor timing from Rua. Nass showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rua.
Rua misses with a two punch combination.
Rua throws a right and a left that Nass avoids nicely. Nass looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rua throws a combination that misses
and Nass counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Rua wants to break free but Nass has control.
Nass tries to land a knee to the head but Rua blocks with his arms.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nass pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nass tries for a takedown but Rua sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nass chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Rua falls off balance throwing a combination
and Nass counters with a shoot takedown. Rua fights it but they end up in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nass trying to control the position from guard on top but Rua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nass tries to free his leg and advance position but Rua is retaining full guard.
Nass gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Rua misses with a double jab
and Nass counters with a takedown into side control.
Nass swings around for an armbar but Rua sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nass's guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua is looking to work some ground and pound but Nass has wrist control. Nass wants to sweep but no luck. Rua must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Nass is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rua gets to his feet - Nass follows without any prompting. Rua tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Nass counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rua won't be happy with that. Rua wants to get back to his feet but Nass drags him back down. Jake Nass overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rua is looking for a sweep. Rua struggling a bit here.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Nass misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Rua is trying to control Nass's posture but Nass avoids it.
Rua throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Rua tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nass closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rua did well to prevent Nass getting side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rua tries to kick Nass off but Nass keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nass drops back looking for a leg! Rua is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rua manages to kick Nass off! Nass jumps back into Rua's guard. Nass is pushing down on Rua's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rua is fighting to maintain full guard but Nass has managed to sneak the leg through. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rua pushes Nass off looking to stand but Nass dives back in and keeps control.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Rua is looking to control Nass's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rua avoid being mounted? Nass prevents Rua from standing back up.
Nass is trying to work for a kimura but Rua is defending well.
Nass trying to advance position but Rua counters by regaining guard. Rua keeping full guard, as Nass tries to pass. Mauricio Rua has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rua is on top in guard.
Nass pulls Rua in close to his closed guard and prevents Rua from doing any damage or advancing position. Nass wants to sweep but no luck. Rua has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nass is proving hard to escape from. Rua trying to control but Nass is working from the bottom.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Jake Nass is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Nass preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Rua is looking to stand up but Nass won't let him.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nass fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rua sprawls well initially but Nass persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Nass passes the guard and advances to mount!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua is trying to stand up. Nass thowing shots but they're missing. Nass controlling his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Jake Nass showed his dominance in that final round. Well Nass has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
