0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leifr Eiriksson! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eiriksson throws a head kick that misses. Filipovic throws a jab but it's blocked by Eiriksson. Filipovic misses with an uppercut. Eiriksson saw that one coming. Eiriksson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Mirko Filipovic has been cut. Eiriksson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Filipovic avoids it really well and circles away. Filipovic tried to score with a low kick but Eiriksson checks it. Eiriksson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Filipovic napping and manages to drive through into side control! Eiriksson is trying to get an arm triangle but Filipovic is defending well. Eiriksson fails to land a wild elbow strike.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Eiriksson controlling the pace for now. Filipovic is trying to stand.

Eiriksson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Filipovic has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The referee warns Filipovic that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Eiriksson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Eiriksson trying to control but Filipovic is having none of it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Filipovic wants to get back to his feet.

Eiriksson shoots for a double leg takedown but Filipovic sprawls well. He's pushed Eiriksson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mirko Filipovic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leifr Eiriksson. Filipovic throws a right and a left that both miss. Eiriksson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Eiriksson. Eiriksson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Filipovic but Filipovic pushes him off and we're back to square one. Filipovic goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Leifr Eiriksson has been cut. Leifr Eiriksson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Eiriksson misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Filipovic throws a left and a right that both miss
and Eiriksson counters with a takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Filipovic wants to get back to his feet but Eiriksson drags him back down. Eiriksson working the head with strikes. Eiriksson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Filipovic has escaped the position, nice work there. Eiriksson tries for a kimura but Filipovic is defending well. Filipovic pushes Eiriksson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Eiriksson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eiriksson throws a strike aimed at the side of Filipovic's head but Filipovic avoids it well. Eiriksson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Eiriksson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! You can see the frustration on Filipovic's face as Eiriksson controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Eiriksson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Filipovic parries the strikes from Eiriksson easily there. Eiriksson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Filipovic to escape.
Mirko Filipovic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Eiriksson advances to full mount. Eiriksson scoring with strikes but Filipovic is staying in there.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mirko Filipovic. I think Eiriksson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
