PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Yap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Sherif (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sherif has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! James Yap had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Sherif!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yap lands a really nice looking cross but Sherif seems unphased.
Sherif looks gassed!
A punch lands to the side of Sherif 's head but he takes it in his stride.

A jab-cross combination lands for Yap and sends Sherif crashing to the mat! Yap follows him down to the mat - Sherif regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Yap tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Sherif.
Yap trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Yap throws a series of punches but Sherif moves out of range.
Sherif slips under a jab from Yap.
Yap throws a combination. Sherif tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Yap pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Yap scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sherif in his tracks.
Yap looks to land a left hand but Sherif moved out of range nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sherif.
Sherif avoids a punch combination nicely.
Yap lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
