PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcio Laselva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Achilles God (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laselva comes to the cage accompanied by Young Birds. God has chosen Triple Corpse Hammerblow - Children of Bodom as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Marcio Laselva has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Marcio Laselva seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Laselva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Laselva wants to lay and pray for a moment but God keeps working.

Laselva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. God knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Laselva tries for a kimura but God is defending well.
Laselva wants to control but God is keeping him busy.
God is looking to regain half guard here but Laselva keeps moving and retains side control.

Laselva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Laselva goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, God has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Laselva but great work by God.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
God throws a right hand that Laselva ducks under and follows up with a left that Laselva also avoids with ease.

Achilles God showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Laselva throws out a loose jab but God uses good head movement to avoid it.

God tries to break the clinch but Laselva is controlling the position.
Laselva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. God smiles and moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

God looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

The fighters circle momentarily. God darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marcio Laselva.
