Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marques Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nelson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fat by Weird Al. Jackson has chosen Daylight as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roy Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marques Jackson! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson tries to clinch but Nelson is having none of it. Nelson closes the distance looking to clinch and Jackson counters with a lovely shot to the body. Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jackson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jackson drives through and clinches with Nelson against the cage.
Jackson lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Nelson backwards. Jackson lands a body punch in the clinch. Nelson is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jackson lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Roy Nelson has been cut. Jackson lands with a light punch inside. Nelson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Jackson stalling.
Nelson blocks an elbow strike from Jackson.
Jackson gets a trip takedown into half guard. Jackson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Jackson is pressing down on Nelson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Nelson is holding on for now. Jackson stalling away here and it's allowed Nelson to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Jackson throwing strikes from guard but Nelson blocks nicely. Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson tries to stand but Nelson is controlling from the bottom. Jackson looking to pass the guard. Nelson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jackson is one step ahead there.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jackson has closed the distance and engaged Nelson in a clinch.
Jackson lands a right hand. Nelson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jackson jumps guard.
Nelson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Nelson wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet. Nelson trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Jackson keeping full guard, as Nelson tries to pass. Nelson thows a big elbow that misses.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nelson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jackson to the mat! Jackson manages to get full guard. Nelson chips away with some ground and pound. Nelson tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Nelson looking to pass the guard. Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nelson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nelson working some strikes from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nelson throwing strikes from guard but Jackson blocks nicely. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Jackson wants to sweep here but Nelson controlling him for the moment. Jackson manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Nelson moves into the clinch successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nelson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jackson counters by clinching up. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Jackson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Nelson's brow. Jackson tightens his grip and picks Nelson up, before dumping him to the ground. Nelson manages to land in guard. Jackson throwing strikes from guard but Nelson blocks nicely. Nelson is looking for a triangle but Jackson pushes his legs off easily.
Jackson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jackson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Nelson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jackson wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nelson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marques Jackson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Roy Nelson's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Nelson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jackson counters by clinching up. Jackson looks to throw an elbow but misses. Jackson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jackson tries to bum rush Nelson with a series of wild strikes but Nelson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jackson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Nelson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jackson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nelson shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Nelson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Nelson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson tries a low kick but Nelson avoids it. Nelson tries to clinch up and Jackson counters with a one-two to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Nelson tries to clinch but Jackson moves away and Jackson counters with a takedown into side control. Nelson on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Jackson wants to stand but Nelson is controlling his arm. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jackson lands some shots froms side control. Nelson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson keeping control of the position. Jackson tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Nelson tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Nelson regains full guard. Nicely done. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jackson postures up.
Nelson pulls Jackson in to control the position. Jackson has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Nelson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Jackson is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Nelson pulls down on the head and he's put Jackson to sleep! This one is all over!
