Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Connor Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and david john (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gordon's entrance music is target=blank>tunak tunak tun. A fine choice. john is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I will not bow. david john will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, david john! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! john fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gordon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gordon wants it to stay on the feet. john is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gordon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Connor Gordon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of david john. Gordon has his takedown stuffed and john counters by moving into the clinch. john tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
john looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. john gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Gordon.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. john connects with a nice short shot to Gordon's temple. Gordon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. john wants to take a breather but Gordon is having none of it. Gordon trying to hold on to john's head to control him but john postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gordon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming john to the mat! john manages to get full guard.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gordon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Excellent takedown into side control there by Gordon. Connor Gordon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gordon jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… john is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by john and Gordon has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

john tries for a takedown but Gordon circles away easily and Gordon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gordon. john is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gordon looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Connor Gordon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gordon working a defensive guard but john passes into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Connor Gordon showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gordon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
