Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yuoki Akamara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ashley Moreau!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moreau fails with a takedown attempt.
Akamara showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Moreau.
Moreau tries a head kick but it misses.
Moreau throws a right and a left that both miss.

Akamara shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Akamara showed some decent athleticism there.

Akamara seems to be working for a kimura but Moreau defends the submission attempt.
Akamara prevents Moreau from improving his position.
Moreau regains full guard. Nicely done.
Moreau looking for a sweep. Not yet Moreau, not yet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Moreau can do anything to dispel that myth.
Akamara wants to pass the guard but Moreau is keeping the position.
Moreau doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Moreau looking for a sweep. Not yet Moreau, not yet.

Akamara drops back looking for a leg! Moreau is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Moreau manages to kick Akamara off! Akamara jumps back into Moreau's guard.
Moreau doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Moreau misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Akamara tries for a takedown but Moreau circles away easily

and Moreau counters with a takedown into side control.
Moreau tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Moreau really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Akamara. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Moreau looks gassed!
Akamara gets back to half guard.
Akamara is pressing down on Moreau's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Akamara looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Akamara pushes a forearm under Moreau's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Moreau is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Yuoki Akamara!
