Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juha Tappio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Severi Turpaansaaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tappio comes to the cage accompanied by Kari Tapio - Juna kulkee vaan. Turpaansaaja has chosen Bulls On Parade as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tappio circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tappio throws a looping overhand right but Turpaansaaja ducks down to avoid it.
Turpaansaaja tries for a takedown but Tappio sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Turpaansaaja scores with a hook to the body. Tappio takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Turpaansaaja lands with a nice body punch.
Juha Tappio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tappio takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Jab, jab by Turpaansaaja - just one landing.

Turpaansaaja moves into range and clinches up with Tappio.
Turpaansaaja gets underhooks to prevent Tappio's takedown attempt.

Turpaansaaja breaks from the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Turpaansaaja connects with a right hand. Tappio shakes it off.

Turpaansaaja connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tappio momentarily.
Oh Tappio is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Turpaansaaja lands a nice looking body shot.
Tappio looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Turpaansaaja is fending him off so far but Tappio persists. Nope, Turpaansaaja circles away and we're back to standing.
Tappio seems to have got his legs back now.

Turpaansaaja shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Tappio is breathing heavily.
Turpaansaaja wants to take a breather but Tappio is having none of it.
Turpaansaaja seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Tappio tries to kick Turpaansaaja off but Turpaansaaja keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Turpaansaaja closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Turpaansaaja lands in his opponent's guard.

Tappio is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Turpaansaaja is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turpaansaaja sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tappio's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Tappio shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Turpaansaaja throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tappio was covering up waiting for the punch and Turpaansaaja finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Turpaansaaja tries to free his leg and advance position but Tappio is retaining full guard.

Turpaansaaja lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Tappio pushes Turpaansaaja off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Tappio misses with a takedown attempt - Turpaansaaja sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juha Tappio. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tappio shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Turpaansaaja as he avoids it easily.
Tappio connects with a jab.
Turpaansaaja stuns Tappio with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Turpaansaaja lands with a nice body punch.
Tappio doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Turpaansaaja counters with a left and a right that stings Tappio.
Tappio takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Tappio takes one to the chin there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Turpaansaaja connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Turpaansaaja connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Tappio tumbling to the canvas! Turpaansaaja pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Tappio was done - good stoppage!
