Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pawel Nastula!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jordi Tejedo!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tejedo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nastula is fending him off so far but Tejedo persists. Nope, Nastula circles away and we're back to standing.
Nastula closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tejedo to the mat! Tejedo manages to get full guard.
Tejedo throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Tejedo looks gassed!
Nastula postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Nastula not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Nastula cracks Tejedo with a solid left hand.
Nastula passes into half guard.
Nastula is trying to control. Tejedo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Nastula tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tejedo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tejedo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nastula pulls his head out easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nastula tries to pass to full mount but Tejedo defends it.
Tejedo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nastula.
Nastula trying to control from half guard but Tejedo is working away.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Tejedo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Nastula counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nastula.
Nastula manages to pull guard.
Nastula has his hands on Tejedo's head, controlling the position.
Nastula's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
