Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Thaledo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bernardo Paiva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thaledo comes to the cage accompanied by Call to Arms- Bayside. Frank Thaledo had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thaledo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Thaledo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Paiva knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Paiva tries to kick Thaledo off but Thaledo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Thaledo wants to pass to mount but Paiva is defending the position.
Paiva pushes Thaledo off looking to stand but Thaledo dives back in and keeps control.
Paiva pushes Thaledo off and gets back to his feet.
Thaledo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Paiva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Paiva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Thaledo scores a takedown into full mount!
Thaledo tries to control but Paiva wriggling away.
Thaledo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Paiva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Paiva wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Thaledo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Thaledo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Paiva is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Thaledo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Paiva somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Paiva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Thaledo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paiva's guard.

Paiva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Thaledo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Paiva tries to avoid it but Thaledo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Paiva to the ground. Paiva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Thaledo in particular looking to stall.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
