Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, pure bjj! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Kaiser! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kaiser clinches up with bjj and pushes him back against the cage. bjj tries to pull guard but Kaiser holds him up against the cage and eventually bjj drops back down to his feet.
bjj pulls guard. bjj trying to keep a closed guard but Kaiser is proving a slippery customer.
bjj is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kaiser stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. bjj swivels though and keeps the full guard. bjj throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kaiser wants to pass the guard but bjj is keeping the position. Kaiser wants to control from the top but bjj keeps moving. Kaiser works a leg free and moves into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kaiser is thwarting bjj's attempts to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. bjj is refusing to be controlled, as Kaiser sits in half guard. Kaiser is working for a kimura but bjj is defending it quite comfortably.
Kaiser is trying to control. bjj wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kaiser jabs bjj right on the nose. bjj blinks but takes it well. Kaiser lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Kaiser dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kaiser scores with a jab to the body. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from bjj. bjj is breathing heavily. Kaiser scores to the head and body with a nice combination! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kaiser catches bjj with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Kaiser scores with a one two! bjj had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. bjj shoots in and drives through. Kaiser sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for pure bjj. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. bjj throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kaiser counters with a lovely straight right hand! bjj misses with a takedown attempt and Kaiser counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kaiser drops bjj with a beautiful combination! bjj stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kaiser is looking for the KO!
bjj is rocked! Kaiser throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends bjj stumbling backwards into the cage! bjj bounces back off the cage towards Kaiser, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Kaiser lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Kaiser celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Chris Kaiser!
