The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lester looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Down fails with the takedown

and Lester counters with a single leg into guard. Down didn't expect that.

Down working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Lester has passed into half guard!
Lester wants to take a breather but Down is having none of it.

Lester shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Down's guard.

Down is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

BOOM! Lester connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Lester wants to control the pace but Down is squirming around nicely.

Lester shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Down pinned against the cage. Down gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A lull in the action here as Down stalls from top position.
Down wants to control but Lester is keeping him busy.
Lester dodges the ground and pound from Down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Lester's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Down with a lazy takedown attempt

and Lester counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Down tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Down looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lester puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Down tries to roll over but Lester keeps him under control.

Lester decides to stand and escape the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Down is on top in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Down manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Down working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Lester turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Down off and cradles Lester's limp body as Down celebrates with his corner.
