Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Mcferon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Garrett Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garrett Allen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Greg Mcferon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Garrett Allen!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcferon misses with a few strikes there.
Allen is looking to clinch but Mcferon is avoiding it.
Horrible takedown by Allen or perhaps it was just good defense by Mcferon which made him look bad.
Allen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mcferon counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A head kick misses from Allen.
Allen misses with a combination
and Mcferon counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Mcferon counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Allen thinking.
Mcferon uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Allen has time to react.
Mcferon connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Allen momentarily.
Mcferon takes a kick to the side of the head.
Allen looks gassed!
Mcferon scores with the left hand. Allen knows he should have avoided that one.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Allen doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mcferon counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Mcferon thuds a left hand into Allen's body.
Mcferon lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


Allen is rocked!
Allen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Allen is still on wobbly legs! Can Mcferon finish him?

Allen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Allen seems to have recovered his senses.
Allen with a poor takedown
and Allen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Greg Mcferon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Garrett Allen.

The crowd cheers as Mcferon lands an impressive looking overhand right. Allen doesn't seem phased though.
Allen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Allen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Allen walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Mcferon has managed to clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mcferon pushes off an throws an elbow but Allen leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Mcferon jumps into guard, dragging Allen to the mat.
Allen won't allow Mcferon to get back to his feet.

Mcferon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Allen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcferon is looking to stand up but Allen isn't so interested in that idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mcferon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Allen wants to stand but Mcferon has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Mcferon wants to stand and escape but Allen is having none of it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mcferon scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Mcferon lands the left hand.
Allen throws a head kick that misses.
Mcferon lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Mcferon jabs Allen right on the nose. Allen blinks but takes it well.
Mcferon connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Allen's hands.
Mcferon lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Mcferon has closed the distance and engaged Allen in a clinch.
Allen takes a shot to the head.
Mcferon lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Mcferon works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Allen is looking to stand up but Mcferon isn't so interested in that idea.
Mcferon connects with a couple of short punches.

Mcferon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Mcferon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Allen wants to stand and escape but Mcferon is having none of it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mcferon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Mcferon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Allen for as long as he can get away with.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Allen has his takedown stuffed
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and Mcferon counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Allen thinking.
Mcferon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mcferon scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Mcferon closes the distance and pushes Allen back into the cage.
Allen tries to circle away but Mcferon has him pinned against the cage.

Mcferon pulls guard effortlessly.
Mcferon can't keep his opponent in guard - Allen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mcferon tries to get to full guard but Allen has control of the leg.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mcferon is trying to stand up here but Allen is controlling him well.
Mcferon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Allen on the ground.

Allen is thwarting Mcferon's attempts to control the position.
Allen is keen to just control but Mcferon is a slippery customer.

Allen is looking for a kimura here.

Allen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mcferon doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Allen.

Allen is trying desperately to land a takedown but Mcferon is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Allen.

Mcferon remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mcferon throws a front kick aimed at Allen's knee but Allen avoids it well.
Mcferon paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Garrett Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Allen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mcferon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Allen.

Allen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mcferon throws a series of strikes that have Allen backpedaling.
Mcferon smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Greg Mcferon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Mcferon is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Allen's half guard.
