Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anthor Basilicus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kurisu Ikora!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Basilicus throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Basilicus tries to score with a low kick but Ikora moves his leg out of the way.
Basilicus looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Ikora avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Basilicus does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ikora shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Basilicus is trying to defend but Ikora finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ikora wants to work for an arm triangle but Basilicus is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Basilicus is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Basilicus just misses with a punch to the body.
Ikora fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Basilicus with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Anthor Basilicus will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ikora slips a jab from Basilicus.
Basilicus is looking to slow Ikora down with leg kicks.
Basilicus feints and then cracks Ikora's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ikora down.
Ikora's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Basilicus throws a wild body kick that Ikora sees coming a mile off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Basilicus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ikora manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anthor Basilicus dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Both fighters circling a little - Basilicus finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Horrible takedown by Ikora or perhaps it was just good defense by Basilicus which made him look bad.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Basilicus, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
