Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ikaika Torres!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perry is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Torres's half guard.
Torres throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Perry knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Torres on the ground.
Perry takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Torres tries to roll over but Perry keeps him under control.
Perry is looking to advance position but Torres won't allow it.
Torres tries to kick Perry off but Perry keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Torres is looking to control Perry's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Torres avoid being mounted?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perry thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Torres's head.

Perry looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Torres with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Torres is trying to stand up here but Perry is controlling him well.
Torres is refusing to be controlled, as Perry sits in half guard.

Perry goes for an armbar but Torres turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Torres.
Perry is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Torres might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Perry kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Torres looking to sit in guard and control but Perry gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Torres keeping moving, preventing Perry from controlling successfully.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Perry, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
