The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chiba drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Galvao pulls Chiba in close to prevent any damage.
Chiba postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Galvao is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Chiba, into his guard.
Chiba can't keep his opponent in guard - Galvao advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Galvao is just content to waste time from the top position. Chiba takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Galvao is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Chiba still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Chiba has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Chiba goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Galvao has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Chiba but great work by Galvao.

Galvao seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Chiba for as long as he can get away with.

Chiba might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Galvao kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
