The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montoya misses with a wild combination.

Montoya throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Thorr takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Valiant Thorr has been cut.

Montoya is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Thorr looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Montoya is avoiding damage well.
Montoya can't do much from the bottom here.
Thorr goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Montoya has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Thorr but great work by Montoya.
Montoya is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Thorr has escaped the position, nice work there.

Montoya wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thorr, who protects the arm well.
Thorr is trying to control Montoya's posture but Montoya avoids it.

Thorr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Montoya doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Thorr.
Thorr tries to pass the half guard into mount. Montoya knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Montoya wants to hit a switch here but Thorr passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Montoya there!
Montoya is in all sorts of trouble here.
Montoya is working hard here to advance position.
Thorr swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Montoya is now in Thorr's guard. A big mistake from Thorr there, giving up the dominant position!

Montoya is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Thorr is just riding it out for now. Montoya eventually gives up the hold.
Montoya seems to be working for a kimura but Thorr defends the submission attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Thorr is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Montoya trying to control from half guard but Thorr is working away.
Montoya is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Thorr is looking to control Montoya's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Thorr avoid being mounted?

That's time! Montoya's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Thorr fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Montoya avoids it really well and circles away.
Hidalgo Montoya is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Montoya regains half guard.
Montoya makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Montoya.
Thorr is breathing heavily.
Montoya is pulling down on Thorr's head. It's preventing any offense from Thorr, at least for the moment.
Thorr postures up.

Montoya pulls Thorr in close to his closed guard and prevents Thorr from doing any damage or advancing position.
Montoya manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Montoya working for a submission but Thorr is keeping him at bay.
Montoya looking for a guillotine from mount but Thorr is having none of it.
Montoya working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Montoya has hold of Thorr's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Thorr manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Thorr has given up his back. Will we see Montoya going for some submissions?

Thorr is really stuck here.
Montoya controlling the position well here. Thorr rolled but Montoya kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Montoya is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Thorr with him. Thorr is trying to defend but Montoya has an arm under the chin now! Thorr grimaces and is forced to tap out!
