Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kotaro Hakku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Omar Sandoyano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kotaro Hakku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Omar Sandoyano!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hakku scores with a takedown into Sandoyano's guard.
Hakku passes Sandoyano's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hakku wants to pass the guard but Sandoyano is defending well.

Hakku is working for a kimura here but Sandoyano manages to reverse the position and he's now in Hakku's guard.

Hakku working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sandoyano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sandoyano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sandoyano wants to control from the top but Hakku keeps moving.
Hakku tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hakku is trying to control the position but Sandoyano postures up.
Sandoyano keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hakku's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hakku working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sandoyano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sandoyano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sandoyano won't allow Hakku to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Sandoyano thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hakku has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sandoyano is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hakku.

Sandoyano has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Sandoyano fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hakku.
Sandoyano thows a body shot but no joy.
Hakku blocks a jab.
Sandoyano throws a looping overhand right but Hakku ducks down to avoid it.
Hakku moves out of range as Sandoyano strikes.

Nice defenses there by Hakku.
Sandoyano jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Donk. Sandoyano catches Hakku right on the button with a cross.
Hakku looks to land a combination but Sandoyano avoids it well.
Sandoyano tries to clinch up but Hakku circles away and keeps his distance.
Sandoyano lands a nice looking body shot.
Hakku checks a leg kick nicely.
Hakku misses with a double jab.

Hakku instigates a clinch.
Sandoyano is trying to stall.
Hakku makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Hakku looking for a takedown.
A nice right hand lands inside from Hakku.

Hakku breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sandoyano shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Sandoyano pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hakku moves out of range as Sandoyano strikes.
Hakku misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hakku lands a glancing blow to the side of Sandoyano's head.
Hakku throws a right hand that Sandoyano ducks under and follows up with a left that Sandoyano also avoids with ease.
Hakku misses with a series of wild punches.

Hakku takes the fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kotaro Hakku will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Sandoyano is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hakku.
Hakku misses with a double jab.
Sandoyano tries to bum rush Hakku with a series of wild strikes but Hakku uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hakku takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hakku is looking to clinch.
Hakku avoids the head kick by Sandoyano.
Hakku lands with a straight right. Sandoyano didn't see that one coming.
Sandoyano fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Hakku is out of range.

and Hakku decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sandoyano's guard.
Hakku wants to control from the top but Sandoyano keeps moving.

Hakku is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hakku pushes down on Sandoyano's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hakku is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sandoyano doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hakku.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hakku frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Sandoyano is squirming around, avoiding Hakku's attempts to control the action.

Hakku wants to finish this one by submission but Sandoyano is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hakku.

Hakku looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Hakku avoids the attempt from Sandoyano to control.
Hakku fails to advance to Sandoyano's back.

Hakku lands with some strikes.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Hakku keeps control of Sandoyano as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Sandoyano wants to get back to striking at distance but Hakku won't allow it.
Sandoyano wants to break free but Hakku has control.
Sandoyano tries to break the clinch but Hakku is controlling the position.

Sandoyano connects with a nice looking jab.
Hakku takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Hakku fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sandoyano, pushing him back against the cage.

Hakku escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
