Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Noel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Nicholas! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Noel misses with the combination.
Nicholas looks for a takedown but Noel sprawls well. Nicholas drops his hands momentarily and Noel takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Noel misses with a looping left. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Some wild striking there from Noel.
Robert Nicholas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nicholas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Noel.
That's one minute gone in the round. Noel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Nicholas pushes down on Noel's leg and manages to get into half guard. Nicholas thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nicholas fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Noel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Nicholas fails to land the takedown. Jay Noel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Nicholas. Nicholas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Noel defends it nicely. Nicholas shoots in for a takedown but Noel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noel throws a right hand that Nicholas ducks under and follows up with a left that Nicholas also avoids with ease. Nice shot lands for Noel. Nicholas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Noel circles away. Nicholas shoots in but no luck this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nicholas landing shots from mount. Nicholas looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nicholas lands a nice shot to the head. Nicholas scoring with strikes but Noel is staying in there. Nicholas postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Noel in real trouble here! The ref calls for Noel to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
