Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Douglas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ken Masters!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masters lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Masters misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Douglas dives in and grabs Masters's left leg, looking for a takedown. Masters pushes down on Douglas's head and hops out.
Masters goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Masters misses with a wild combination.
Masters swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Douglas gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Douglas manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Masters advances position into side control!
Masters should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Douglas parries the strikes from Masters easily there. Masters is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Douglas to escape.
Masters is looking to take a break and control but Douglas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Douglas tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Masters throws an elbow but Douglas slips to the side and avoids it well.
Masters postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Masters tries to bum rush Douglas with a series of wild strikes but Douglas uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Horrible takedown by Douglas or perhaps it was just good defense by Masters which made him look bad.

Masters thuds his right hand into Douglas's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Masters misses with a wild combination.
Douglas lands with a nice combination. Masters backs away looking to recover.

Masters throws a right hand that Douglas ducks under and follows up with a left that Douglas also avoids with ease.
Masters looks gassed!
Douglas lands a nice looking body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Douglas is defended easily by Masters.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Douglas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A big left from Masters misses.
Masters is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Masters throws the left hand but Douglas avoids the punch easily.
Masters pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Douglas has closed the distance and engaged Masters in a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Douglas rushes Masters and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Douglas is looking to break free of the clinch but Masters has double underhooks.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Masters throwing strikes but missing.
Douglas pulls Masters in close to his closed guard and prevents Masters from doing any damage or advancing position.
Masters has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Douglas is proving hard to escape from.
Douglas wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Douglas scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Ken Masters is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Masters looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Douglas closes the distance and pushes Masters back into the cage.
Douglas changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Masters fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Masters moves out of range as Douglas throws a body kick.
Masters works over Douglas's head and body with a nice combination.
Douglas fails to land the takedown.
Masters connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Masters scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Douglas slips a jab and a cross from Masters.
Masters throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ken Masters will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Douglas smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Masters throws a left and a right that both miss

and Douglas counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Masters won't allow Douglas to pass to mount.
Douglas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Masters keeps working.
Douglas is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Masters is trying to stand up here but Douglas is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Douglas wants to take a breather but Masters is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Masters tests Douglas's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Douglas shoots in and drives through. Masters sprawls well.
Masters throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Douglas.
Douglas avoids the head kick by Masters.

Douglas gets a takedown into half guard.
Masters trying to control from the bottom.
Douglas with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Douglas stops Masters from getting back to his feet.
Douglas passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Masters!

Masters's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Masters is squirming around, avoiding Douglas's attempts to control the action.
Masters wants to get back to his feet.

Douglas has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
You get the feeling that Masters really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Douglas darts in and clinches Masters up against the cage.

Douglas is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Masters can't fight it off and eventually Douglas manages to take the fight to the floor. Masters looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Douglas's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Masters is trying to control the position but Douglas postures up.
Masters throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Douglas has Masters pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Douglas pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Masters tumbling to the mat - Douglas dives into Masters's guard.
