Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Quer Tajik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Asher Morris! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Morris. Tajik misses with a straight left. Morris misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Tajik swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tajik throws a shot from downtown. Morris moves away and avoids it. Morris shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Morris is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Tajik has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Tajik! Tajik would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tajik wants to pass the guard but Morris is keeping the position. Tajik trying to control the position from guard on top but Morris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tajik trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Tajik stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morris swivels though and keeps the full guard. Tajik looking to sit in guard and control but Morris gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Tajik has momentary wrist control but Morris slips an elbow through the middle. Tajik is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Morris drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tajik looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tajik looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tajik! Tajik in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Tajik taking a breather here. Tajik tries to score with some ground and pound. Morris controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tajik throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Morris being controlled for a moment. Tajik misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Tajik lands a few punches from side control. Tajik misses with the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Both fighters take a look at the clock. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Morris's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Morris is not content to let Tajik control the position. Morris can't do much from the bottom here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Morris is trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Quer Tajik will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A clash of legs there as Morris blocks the low kick. No joy there for Tajik, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

It looks like Asher Morris has been cut. Tajik attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Tajik throws a right and a left that Morris avoids nicely. Morris moves out of range as Tajik throws a body kick.
Tajik throws an overhand right that lands on Morris's shoulder, as Morris tries to avoid the shot. Morris moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Tajik throws a looping overhand right but Morris ducks down to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morris slips a straight right by Tajik. Morris is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tajik. A combination from Tajik does no damage. Tajik tries to score with a low kick but Morris moves his leg out of the way. Tajik looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Morris throws a shot to the body.

Tajik lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Morris circles away quickly and effectively. Tajik throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Morris. Morris shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tajik sprawls well. Tajik wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Morris gets slowly back to his feet. Tajik throws a right and a left that both miss. Morris bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Morris changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tajik looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Morris swings around for an armbar but Tajik sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Morris's guard. Morris is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tajik wants to control from the top but Morris keeps moving. Morris has a closed guard, preventing Tajik from standing up. Morris trying to control the position.
Morris looking for a sweep. Not yet Morris, not yet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tajik controls the pace of the fight for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Quer Tajik dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Asher Morris's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Morris looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Tajik cracks Morris with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Morris checks a leg kick. A combination from Tajik does no damage. An inside leg kick from Morris misses. Morris keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Tajik. Tajik lands an overhand right. Morris scores with a nice body kick.
Morris shoots in for a takedown but Tajik shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tajik takes a swing at Morris's ribcage but misses. Quer Tajik is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tajik lands a left and a right that send Morris crashing to the mat, dazed. Tajik thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Tajik misses with an uppercut. Some wild striking there from Tajik.
Morris ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Morris slips under a jab from Tajik. Morris moves away from the strike by Tajik. A combination from Tajik does no damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morris showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tajik.
Tajik keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Quer Tajik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Asher Morris. Morris slips a jab and a cross from Tajik.
Morris blocks a jab. Tajik throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Morris. Quer Tajik is winning the standup battle so far. A jab from Tajik misses. A clash of legs there as Morris blocks the low kick.

That has opened up Asher Morris's cut even more. Morris checks a low kick from Tajik. Morris shoots in and bounces Tajik off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Morris stands and throws Tajik's legs to the side, diving into side control. Morris tries for a kimura but Tajik is defending well. Tajik wants to control but Morris postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morris tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Morris working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Morris takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Tajik holds on to Morris's head and controls the position momentarily. Tajik is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Morris off and has taken his back! Asher Morris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Morris trying to control the hands but Tajik won't let him.
And that's the end of the fight! Quer Tajik showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tajik, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
