Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aladin Carpet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reilly Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Carpet might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Requiem for a Dream Remix - Clint Mansell. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aladin Carpet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Reilly Bell!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bell throws a nice looking combination but Carpet bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Reilly Bell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bell shoots in for a takedown but Carpet shows good takedown defense.
Bell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A combination from Bell does no damage.
Bell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bell throws a solid leg kick but Carpet takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bell.

Bell misses with a series of wild punches.
Carpet looks to score with a jab to the body but Bell is just out of range.
Carpet throws a combination that misses
and Bell counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Carpet throws a leg kick but Bell sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Bell moves out of range of the body kick from Carpet.
Bell closes the distance and clinches up with Carpet, looking for a takedown. Bell pushes Carpet against the cage but Carpet circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Carpet misses with an uppercut. Bell saw that one coming.
Carpet moves away from the strike by Bell.
Bell misses with a head kick.

Carpet throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carpet tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bell was well out of range. Poor timing from Carpet.
Carpet tries to land a front kick but Bell steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Carpet throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bell misses with a few strikes there.
Carpet misses with a looping left.
Carpet throws a body punch but Bell moves out of range.
Bell punishes Carpet's body with a nice straight punch.
A clash of legs there as Bell blocks the low kick.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bell looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bell slips under a jab.
Carpet looks to land a body kick but Bell moved away.
Bell blocks a low kick nicely.
Bell misses the jab.
Carpet thows a body shot but no joy.

Carpet decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Carpet thows a huge punch but Bell dodges it nicely.
Bell is looking to control Carpet's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bell avoid being mounted?
Carpet seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Carpet landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Carpet throwing shots but Bell is blocking nicely.

Carpet is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Carpet breaks from Bell's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bell can't escape the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carpet has Bell pressed against the cage, preventing Bell from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Bell goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Carpet turns into him and now he's in Bell's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Carpet with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bell striking off his back but it's not causing Carpet any problems.
Carpet postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Aladin Carpet will probably get the nod.

Bell can't keep his opponent in guard - Carpet advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bell fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Carpet is out of range.

Carpet swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bell counters with a two punch combo.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carpet.

Carpet tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bell is able to avoid easily.
Bell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carpet circles away quickly and effectively.

A frustrated look appears on Bell's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Bell tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Aladin Carpet is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Carpet misses with a knee strike.
Bell wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Bell looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Carpet is pushing Bell up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Carpet keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bell's efforts to push away.

Well Carpet has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
