Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Crane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jefferson Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Crane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jefferson Hicks! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crane shoots for a takedown but Hicks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Crane misses with a takedown attempt - Hicks sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Crane really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Crane moves in looking to clinch but Hicks pushes him off. Crane fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Crane. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hicks clinches with his opponent.
Crane tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hicks breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Crane connects with the punch. Crane shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hicks pinned against the cage. Hicks gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Crane scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Hicks scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hicks prevents Crane from improving his position. Crane is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hicks wants to stand up but Crane is controlling the position.
Crane tries to roll over but Hicks keeps him under control. Crane gets back to full guard.
Crane is trying to keep Hicks in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A punch combination from Hicks misses. Hicks lands with a straight right. Crane didn't see that one coming. Hicks moves into range and clinches up with Crane. Crane fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hicks lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Crane manages to pull guard.
Hicks has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Crane is proving hard to escape from. Crane not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hicks cracks Crane with a solid left hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Crane tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hicks is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Crane controls Hicks momentarily but Hicks frees himself. Hicks is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Crane trying to keep a closed guard but Hicks is proving a slippery customer.
Hicks advances position into side control! Crane is breathing heavily. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hicks working the head and body with strikes. Crane is letting Hicks control him for a moment. Hicks wants to control but Crane is keeping him busy. Crane manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Hicks prevents Crane from improving his position. Hicks trying to control the pace. Hicks wants to take a breather but Crane is having none of it. Crane is trying to control but can't.
Crane is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hicks scores with a couple of nice shots. Hicks looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Crane moves into full guard.
Crane is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hicks postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Hicks trying to control the position from guard on top but Crane is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Crane tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hicks working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hicks throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Crane works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hicks has closed the distance and engaged Crane in a clinch.
Hicks tries to land knees in the clinch but Crane avoids the damage to the body. Hicks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hicks fails with an attempt to clinch.
Crane doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hicks counters with a single leg into guard. Crane didn't expect that. Hicks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hicks sitting in guard, not really doing much. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jefferson Hicks dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Crane tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hicks counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Crane is trying to control but can't.
Hicks wants to control but Crane is keeping him busy. Crane moves into full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Crane shoots in for a takedown but Hicks shows good takedown defense. Hicks is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crane misses with a takedown attempt and Hicks counters with a shoot takedown. Crane fights it but they end up in guard. Crane escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hicks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hicks throws and elbow that misses. Crane uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hicks's guard. Nice move by Crane! Crane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hicks swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hicks throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Hicks keeping full guard, as Crane tries to pass. Crane content to stall in guard here. Hicks controls Crane momentarily but Crane frees himself. Crane looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hicks is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Crane is controlling him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Crane gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hicks stopping the sweep attempt from Crane. Hicks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Crane is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hicks throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Crane's body to avoid the submission. Crane has instead reached around Hicks's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Crane arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). James Crane!
