Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Romano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Ansley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vladimir Romano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Ansley! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ansley forces Romano back against the cage and clinches. Ansley is working Romano over against the cage. Ansley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Romano lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ansley circles away quickly and effectively. Romano scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Ansley tries a head kick but it misses.
Romano swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A punch combination from Romano misses. Ansley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Romano sprawls well. Romano wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ansley gets slowly back to his feet. Romano throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ansley. Ansley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Romano looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Ansley tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ansley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Romano manages to get back to half guard. Romano looking for submissions off his back. Romano is staying active underneath Ansley, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romano is trying to get back to full guard. Romano is refusing to be controlled, as Ansley sits in half guard. Romano looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Romano might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Romano is breathing heavily. Ansley passes to side control. Ansley in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Ansley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Romano, who protects the arm well. Romano is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The ground and pound from Ansley seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Ansley tries for a kimura but Romano is defending well. Romano gets back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Romano is looking to control Ansley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Romano avoid being mounted? Romano moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ansley distracts Romano with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Romano has his foot on Ansley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ansley works his way back into a safe position though. Ansley is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romano keeping moving, preventing Ansley from controlling successfully. Romano lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ansley! Romano working for a guillotine from mount but Ansley is in no mood to give up. Ansley wants to control but Romano is having none of it. Romano with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Romano goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ansley is on top in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Vladimir Romano will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Romano shoots in but no luck this time. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Romano misses with a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ansley darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Romano tries to get to full guard but Ansley has control of the leg. Ansley is looking for a kimura here.

Ansley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Romano is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Ansley is trying to get an arm triangle but Romano is defending well. Romano sneaks back into half guard. Romano is trying to control but Ansley manages to pass to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Vladimir Romano will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Not this time though. Ansley wants to control but Romano is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Romano fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ansley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ansley lands in his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ansley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Romano has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ansley has managed to get both his arms back between Romano's legs - danger averted. Ansley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Ansley connects with a couple of short punches. Romano is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ansley is aware though and is defending well. Romano wants to sweep here but Ansley controlling him for the moment. Ansley wants to control from the top but Romano keeps moving. Romano is looking for a triangle but Ansley pushes his legs off easily.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vladimir Romano. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Romano, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
