Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tim Reams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam McCaughey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reams kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is target=blank>Rock you like a Hurricane. 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adam McCaughey! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reams scores with a sloppy right hand. McCaughey should have avoided that one. Reams ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Reams throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McCaughey stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Reams misses with a head kick.
Reams throws a series of punches but McCaughey avoids them all with ease. McCaughey misses with a head kick.
Reams goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. McCaughey checks the leg kick. McCaughey fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Reams throws a right and a left that both miss. Tim Reams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reams lands a nice looking body shot.
Reams tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Reams is looking to score with low kicks. Reams throws a series of punches but McCaughey moves out of range. McCaughey shoots in for a takedown but Reams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Reams tries to score with a low kick but McCaughey moves his leg out of the way. Good leg kick by McCaughey there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
McCaughey cracks the inside of Reams's front leg. McCaughey lands a nice leg kick that just misses Reams's sensitive parts. Reams cracks McCaughey with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. McCaughey lands a nice looking body kick. McCaughey takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A low kick from Reams is predictable there and McCaughey counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Reams is lucky that one didn't land flush. McCaughey swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Reams counters with a left and a right that stings McCaughey. A head kick misses from McCaughey.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reams displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Reams takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Tim Reams is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Reams tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Reams throws a right hand that McCaughey ducks under and follows up with a left that McCaughey also avoids with ease. Reams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A left and a right from Reams both land. Nice combination. McCaughey shoots in looking for a takedown. Reams tries to sprawl out of it but McCaughey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reams manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Tim Reams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam McCaughey. Reams tries to bum rush McCaughey with a series of wild strikes but McCaughey uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Reams closes the distance looking to clinch and McCaughey counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCaughey forces his way into half guard. McCaughey is looking to take a break and control but Reams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Reams looks like he's trying to stand up.
McCaughey is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Reams avoiding damage under a succession of punches from McCaughey. McCaughey wants to free his trapped foot but Reams is holding on for dear life with his legs. McCaughey prevents Reams from standing back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Reams throws a body kick, spinning off balance and McCaughey counters with a three punch combo that has Reams backing up. Reams nods at McCaughey to acknowledge the strikes. Reams avoids the head kick by McCaughey.

He's pushed McCaughey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. McCaughey circles away from the clinch attempt and McCaughey counters with a nice low kick that buckles Reams's knee momentarily. McCaughey throws a head kick but Reams moves out of range.

and McCaughey counters with a takedown into side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McCaughey prevents Reams from escaping the position. Reams dodges the ground and pound from McCaughey. McCaughey in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. McCaughey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Reams is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reams is pulling down on McCaughey's head. It's preventing any offense from McCaughey, at least for the moment. McCaughey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reams swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reams is trying to control the position from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McCaughey accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. McCaughey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McCaughey misses with a combination
and Reams counters with a one-two to the body. McCaughey checks a low kick from Reams. McCaughey throws a series of strikes that have Reams backpedaling.

Adam McCaughey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. McCaughey creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Reams sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
