Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Frary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spike Spiegel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spiegel has chosen Cowboy bebop theme as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Spike Spiegel is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Frary! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Spike Spiegel! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frary pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Spiegel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Frary paws at him with a jab and circles away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Spiegel pulls Frary into guard.
Frary passes into half guard. Frary working over Spiegel with some ground and pound. Spiegel looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Spiegel looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Spiegel throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Spiegel keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Spiegel avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Frary.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spiegel is looking to escape. Frary looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Spiegel is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Frary's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Frary's back! Frary tries to break free.
Frary breaks Spiegel's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Frary advances to half guard. Spiegel is looking to improve his position.
Spiegel is not content to let Frary control the position. Frary misses with a head shot. Spiegel uses the momentum to regain guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Frary trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Frary trying to control the position from guard on top but Spiegel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Spiegel wants to sweep here but Frary controlling him for the moment. Frary wants to control from the top but Spiegel keeps moving. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Frary looking to sit in guard and control but Spiegel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Spiegel prevents Frary from getting back to his feet. Frary on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Frary tries to get out of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Spiegel gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Frary to score an easy takedown into full guard. Frary looking to sit in guard and control but Spiegel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Frary is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Frary is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Spiegel defends well. Frary tries to land a sweep but no joy. Frary throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Frary is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Frary is breathing heavily. Frary wants to sweep here but Spiegel controlling him for the moment. Spiegel wants to control from the top but Frary keeps moving. Spiegel trying to stand up but can't free himself from Frary's guard. Frary is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Spiegel is aware though and is defending well. Frary looking to hit a scissor sweep but Spiegel is one step ahead there. Spiegel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Frary has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Spiegel has managed to get both his arms back between Frary's legs - danger averted. Spiegel missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Frary dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Frary feints and as Spiegel raises his hands in defense, Frary changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Frary trying to move into half guard but instead Spiegel has managed to sweep! Frary keeping moving, preventing Spiegel from controlling successfully. Frary looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Spiegel trying to control the position from guard on top but Frary is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Spiegel slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frary is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Spiegel's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Frary tries to get to full guard but Spiegel has control of the leg. Frary knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spiegel on the ground. Spiegel is trying to control. Frary wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Spiegel stalling away here and it's allowed Frary to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Spiegel wants to control from the top but Frary keeps moving. Frary looking for a guillotine here but Spiegel defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Spiegel wants to control but Frary is having none of it. Frary controlling the pace for now. Frary trying to control but Spiegel is having none of it. Frary looking to finish Spiegel with some ground and pound. This is bad for Spiegel! Frary scoring with strikes but Spiegel is staying in there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Frary controlling from the full mount. Frary is landing with some decent strikes but Spiegel is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Frary working away from the top, dropping strikes. Frary looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Frary trying to control but Spiegel is having none of it. Spiegel in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Frary dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Spiegel working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Frary's head. Spiegel wants to control from the top but Frary keeps moving. Spiegel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Frary is keeping the position for now. Spiegel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Frary throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Spiegel is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frary throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Spiegel escapes and throws Frary's legs to the side, diving into side control! Spiegel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Spiegel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Frary sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Frary moves into full guard.
Frary has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Frary is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Spiegel is aware though and is defending well. Spiegel has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Frary is proving hard to escape from.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frary is looking for a triangle but Spiegel pushes his legs off easily.
Spike Spiegel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Spiegel stopping the sweep attempt from Frary. Frary controls Spiegel momentarily but Spiegel frees himself. Frary trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Spiegel throwing strikes but missing. Spiegel wants to control from the top but Frary keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Frary throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Spiegel was covering up waiting for the punch and Frary finishes the takedown easily into guard. Spiegel wants to stand and escape but Frary is having none of it. Steve Frary is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Frary drops back looking for a leg! Spiegel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spiegel manages to kick Frary off! Frary jumps back into Spiegel's guard. Frary chips away with some ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Steve Frary showed his dominance in that final round. Well Frary has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
