Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Dash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Enzo Fusilli! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dash fails with a takedown attempt. Fusilli is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dash. A combination from Fusilli does no damage. Fusilli's corner calls for a 1-2. Fusilli obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Dash misses with a two punch combination.
Dash uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fusilli.
Dash shoots for a takedown but Fusilli saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Dash thows a body shot but no joy. Dash throws a series of punches but Fusilli moves out of range. Fusilli drops Dash with a left right combo! Fusilli follows him down to the ground into side control.
Dash is rocked! Fusilli has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fusilli swings for the body but Dash moves out of range.
Fusilli looks to land a left hand but Dash moved out of range nicely. Dash slips under a jab from Fusilli. Fusilli misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dash.
Dash pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Dash looks to land a combination. Fusilli sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Dash slips a jab from Fusilli. Fusilli swings and misses with a shot to the body and Dash counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fusilli wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fusilli gets full guard. Dash is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Fusilli wants to stand and escape but Dash is having none of it. Dash preventing the sweep. Dash stands and throws Fusilli's legs to the side, diving into side control. Dash tries to advance to mount but Fusilli denies him. Dash working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dash prevents Fusilli from escaping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dash is trying to get an arm triangle but Fusilli is defending well. Dash is trying to get an arm triangle but Fusilli is defending well. Fusilli tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dash wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Dash tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. But no, Fusilli has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dash but great work by Fusilli. Dash is breathing heavily. Fusilli stands up and beckons Dash to his feet. Dash slips under a jab from Fusilli. Enzo Fusilli is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fusilli misses with a two punch combination.
Enzo Fusilli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fusilli misses with a body kick. Fusilli misses with a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Enzo Fusilli will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Dash lands a nice shot to the body.
Fusilli stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fusilli wants it to stay on the feet. Fusilli misses the body punch and Dash counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Dash looks for a takedown but Fusilli sprawls well. Dash takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Dash shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fusilli but Fusilli pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Dash. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fusilli stalks Dash and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dash's face. Dash staggers backwards, shaken.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fusilli leaves Dash with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Dash ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Fusilli misses with a looping right. Dash changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fusilli tries to avoid it but Dash manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fusilli to the ground. Fusilli escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Fusilli thows a body shot but no joy. Dash scores with a body shot.

and Dash counters with a shoot takedown. Fusilli fights it but they end up in guard. Dash pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fusilli is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fusilli looking to control.
Dash won't allow Fusilli to sweep him here. Dash drops back looking for a leg! Fusilli is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fusilli manages to kick Dash off! Dash jumps back into Fusilli's guard. Fusilli working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dash doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dash manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Fusilli is breathing heavily. Dash thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Dash drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dash jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Fusilli misses the shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fusilli throws a big shot that misses. Fusilli thows a left - swing and a miss! Fusilli swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dash counters with a shoot takedown. Fusilli fights it but they end up in guard. Jim Dash overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fusilli manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dash manages to get himself to full guard.
Dash has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fusilli can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Fusilli throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dash looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dash is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fusilli defends well. Fusilli must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fusilli trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dash's guard. Dash has his foot on Fusilli's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fusilli works his way back into a safe position though. Fusilli stands up from Dash's guard - Fusilli perhaps looking for a knockout. Fusilli fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dash manages to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fusilli takes a swing at Dash's ribcage but misses. Fusilli throws a hook but Dash avoids it easily. Fusilli throws a combination that misses and Dash counters with a nice double leg into guard. Dash thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Fusilli looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dash puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Fusilli is pressing down on Dash's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Dash pushing down on Fusilli's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Fusilli gets full guard. Dash works a leg free and moves into half guard. Fusilli takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dash is trying to work for a kimura but Fusilli is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Fusilli makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fusilli. Dash is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Fusilli looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dash drops back looking for a leg! Fusilli is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fusilli manages to kick Dash off! Dash jumps back into Fusilli's guard. Dash passes Fusilli's left leg - he's now in half guard. Fusilli is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dash is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Dash tries to pass to full mount but Fusilli defends it. Fusilli is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Dash has latched onto it... Big trouble! Dash pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Fusilli is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Dash!
