The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uyenishi fails with a takedown attempt.
Matt Vipers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice sprawl there from Vipers as Uyenishi shoots in.
Vipers tries for a takedown but Uyenishi circles away easily

and Uyenishi counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Uyenishi is working for a kimura but Vipers is defending it quite comfortably.

Uyenishi is working for an americana but Vipers has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Uyenishi was thinking about the submission.
Vipers wants to stand up but Uyenishi is controlling him.

Uyenishi drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Vipers dives on top into guard.

Uyenishi looking for a guillotine here but Vipers defends easily.

Uyenishi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vipers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Vipers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Uyenishi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vipers has managed to get both his arms back between Uyenishi's legs - danger averted.
Uyenishi looks gassed!
Vipers pushes down on Uyenishi's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Vipers seems to be working for a kimura but Uyenishi defends the submission attempt.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Vipers is pressing down on Uyenishi's thigh, looking to free his foot. Uyenishi is holding on for now.

Vipers is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Uyenishi!

Vipers has isolated one of Uyenishi's arms. Uyenishi looking to fight him off but Vipers twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
