Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Karamazov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Travis Black! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karamazov fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Black throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Black swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Some wild striking there from Black.
Karamazov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Black. Black thuds a left hand into Karamazov's body. Karamazov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Black throws a right and a left that both miss. Black misses with a jab, cross combination.
Karamazov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Black. Karamazov closes the distance and clinches up with Black, looking for a takedown. Karamazov pushes Black against the cage but Black circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Black cracks Karamazov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Black throws a nice looking combination but Karamazov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Karamazov shoots in for a takedown but Black shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Karamazov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Black looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Horrible takedown by Karamazov or perhaps it was just good defense by Black which made him look bad. Black throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Karamazov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Black is fending him off so far but Karamazov persists. Nope, Black circles away and we're back to standing. Karamazov tries a head kick but it misses.
Karamazov is breathing heavily. Black misses the shot to the body. Karamazov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Black fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jab by Black. Black tries to close the distance and clinch up but Karamazov swats him away and circles back towards the center. Travis Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Black connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Karamazov! He's out on his feet! Black rushes in and drops Karamazov with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Travis Black!
