Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tim Evertts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Invasion of the Bodysnatcher kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tim Evertts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Scott Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evertts shoots in but no luck this time.
Evertts checks a low kick from Peterson.
Peterson wants to land a leg kick but Evertts is out of range.
Evertts shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Peterson as he avoids it easily.

and Evertts counters with a single leg into guard. Peterson didn't expect that.

Evertts is looking to stand up but Peterson won't let him.

Peterson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Peterson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Evertts doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Peterson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Peterson counters with a shoot takedown. Evertts fights it but they end up in guard.

Peterson looks up at the clock and then as Evertts takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Peterson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Peterson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Evertts is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Evertts is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Peterson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Evertts tries to hold on but Peterson postures up.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Peterson looking to control but Evertts is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Peterson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Peterson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Evertts can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Peterson has hold of Evertts's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Evertts manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Peterson is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Peterson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Peterson lands a heavy elbow.
Evertts has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peterson is working the ground and pound. Can Evertts escape?

Peterson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Evertts has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Peterson lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Evertts hold on?!

Peterson looking to break Evertts's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Evertts remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Peterson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Peterson doesn't have the hooks in and Evertts manages to turn into his guard.

Evertts is trying to control the action in half guard but Peterson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Peterson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Peterson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Evertts escapes and throws Peterson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Peterson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Peterson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Evertts has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Peterson is proving hard to escape from.
Evertts lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peterson is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evertts is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Evertts wants to get back to his feet but Peterson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Evertts pulls Peterson in close to his closed guard and prevents Peterson from doing any damage or advancing position.

Peterson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Evertts dives on top into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Peterson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Evertts stacks Peterson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Evertts!

Peterson has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Evertts doesn't defend quickly enough and Peterson has managed to lock this one up! Can Evertts escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Peterson on a fantastic submission victory.
